About the Partners

Levi Strauss Foundation

Levi Strauss Foundation partnered with BSR HERproject, a founding partner of RISE, from 2018 to pilot gender responsive wage digitization at a Levi Strauss & Co. supplier in Egypt. By 2022, over 9,000 workers are being paid into digital accounts and trained how to use them.

Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth

The Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth is an anchor partner for RISE with a focus on Financial Health. Since 2018, the Center has partnered with BSR HERproject, a founding partner of RISE, to scale up wage digitization for Ready-made Garment (RMG) factories and workers. The partnership pairs digital wages with financial capability training in multiple markets, providing much needed financial planning resources for managers and workers, especially women.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation partnered with BSR HERproject, a founding partner of RISE, from 2015 - 2022 to pilot gender responsive wage digitization. In 2020, the program involving 75 factories in Bangladesh led to over 150,000 workers being paid digitally, reducing payroll administration time for factories, and increasing financial literacy and economic empowerment for workers, especially women.
